The brand is world-renowned for its lilac packaging and the Alpine cow logo, representing the use of 100% Alpine milk in its recipes. Although it began in Switzerland, the brand's headquarters and primary historical production moved to Lörrach, Germany.

Today, Milka is part of the global snacks giant Mondelēz International. While its roots are Swiss and German, manufacturing has expanded across Europe to meet global demand, with major production facilities located in Germany, Austria, Poland, and Belgium.
