Itambé is a traditional Brazilian dairy brand founded in 1948 in the state of Minas Gerais. Originally established as a cooperative of milk producers (CCPR - Cooperativa Central dos Produtores Rurais de Minas Gerais), it became one of the largest dairy companies in Brazil, specializing in milk powder, yogurt, and butter. In recent years, the ownership structure underwent significant changes. In 2017, the French dairy giant Lactalis acquired a major stake in the brand. Following various legal and corporate restructuring phases, Itambé is now fully integrated into the Lactalis Group portfolio, although the CCPR still maintains a strategic partnership for milk supply. The product is manufactured domestically in Brazil, leveraging the country's vast dairy farming industry.
