Unibroue P'tite Maudite

Unibroue P'tite Maudite is a light version of the famous Maudite ale, originating from Chambly, Quebec. The brand was founded in 1990 by André Dion and Serge Racine and quickly became a pioneer in North American craft brewing, specializing in Belgian-style bottle-fermented ales. Its labels often feature artwork inspired by Quebec folklore, such as the legend of the Chasse-Galerie (the Flying Canoe).

Although the brand has strong local roots, its ownership has transitioned over the years. Unibroue was acquired by Sleeman Breweries in 2004, which in turn was purchased by the Japanese giant Sapporo Breweries in 2006. Today, Unibroue remains one of Canada’s most awarded breweries, operating as part of the Sapporo Group while maintaining its dedicated production facility in Chambly.
