The brand's history dates back to 1871, when the medicinal properties of its springs were first officially recognized. The water is unique because its carbonation is 100% natural, occurring at the source rather than being added during the bottling process.

Today, the brand is owned by Super Bock Group, the largest Portuguese beverage company. While the original plain water remains a staple, the brand expanded its portfolio to include 'Pedras Sabores,' which includes fruit-flavoured variations like the pineapple (ananás) version shown here. The product is bottled directly at the source in Pedras Salgadas, ensuring that the natural characteristics of the water are preserved from the underground aquifer to the consumer.
