HG is a prominent brand specializing in high-quality cleaning and maintenance products for the home and garden. Originally founded in the Netherlands in the 1960s by Håkan Gyllenberg (whose initials provide the brand name), the company began as a distributor of specialized products for swimming pools before expanding into a comprehensive range of surface-specific cleaners.

Today, HG International B.V. operates its own highly automated production facility and laboratory in Almere, Netherlands, where the vast majority of its products are developed and manufactured. The brand is currently owned by the private equity firm Cobepa, which acquired a majority stake in 2017 to support its international growth.
