Bodacious is a highly recognizable Canadian wine brand that has gained significant popularity for its approachable and fruit-forward flavor profiles. The brand was specifically developed to appeal to modern consumers looking for smooth, easy-drinking wines that pair well with a variety of social occasions. Most Bodacious products are classified as International Canadian Blends, meaning they are crafted in Canada using a combination of domestic and imported grapes.
Originally launched by Vincor International, the brand became part of the Constellation Brands portfolio when Vincor was acquired in 2006. In 2016, a major shift occurred in the Canadian wine landscape when the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan acquired the Canadian wine business from Constellation Brands. This led to the formation of Arterra Wines Canada, which currently manages and produces the Bodacious brand.
Today, Bodacious is produced primarily at facilities in Ontario and British Columbia. While the brand has its roots in the Canadian market, its ultimate ownership rests with the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, reflecting a strong domestic corporate backing. The brand continues to expand its lineup, offering reds, whites, and rosés that emphasize bold fruit flavors and accessible pricing.
