Rooh Afza Syrup

Rooh Afza is a legendary herbal syrup that has been a staple in South Asian households for over a century. It was originally formulated in 1906 by Hakim Hafiz Abdul Majeed in Old Delhi, India, as a cooling drink to help combat the intense heat of the region. The recipe consists of a complex blend of ingredients, including herbs, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and roots, which contribute to its distinctive fragrance and deep red color.

Following the partition of India in 1947, the Hamdard organization split into separate entities. Today, Rooh Afza is manufactured and marketed by Hamdard Laboratories (WAQF) in India, Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) in Pakistan, and Hamdard Laboratories (Waqf) in Bangladesh. Each of these organizations operates independently in their respective countries, maintaining the legacy of the original brand while serving their local and international export markets. The brand remains under the ownership of these charitable trusts (Waqf), which dedicate a portion of their profits to healthcare and education.
