Falcon Beer

Falcon is one of Sweden's most iconic beer brands, with roots dating back to the late 19th century. The brand was established in 1896 in Falkenberg, Sweden, as Bryggeri AB Falken. Over the decades, Falcon became a staple of Swedish culture, known for its traditional brewing methods and distinctive lager profile. The water for the brew is traditionally sourced from the same artisan spring in Falkenberg that was used at the company's inception.

Following a period of consolidation in the Scandinavian brewing industry, the brand underwent several ownership changes. In 1996, Bryggeri AB Falken merged with Pripps, and the resulting entity was eventually acquired by the Danish brewing giant Carlsberg Group in 2000. Today, Falcon remains a core pillar of the Carlsberg Sverige portfolio, maintaining its production primarily at the Carlsberg brewery in Falkenberg to preserve its authentic local heritage.

As of 2024 and beyond, the brand is wholly owned by the Carlsberg Group, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. The brand continues to be a market leader in the Swedish retail and hospitality sectors, benefiting from the global distribution and marketing infrastructure of its parent company while retaining its regional identity.
