Pedras Salgadas, often simply known as Pedras, is a naturally carbonated mineral water brand originating from the Pedras Salgadas springs in the Vila Pouca de Aguiar region of northern Portugal. The brand's history dates back to 1871, when the medicinal properties of its naturally sparkling waters were first officially recognized. The water is unique because it is naturally carbonated at the source rather than having gas added artificially.
The product is manufactured and bottled exclusively at its source in Portugal to maintain its natural purity and mineral content. The Limão (Lemon) variant combines this traditional mineral water with natural fruit ingredients. Today, the brand is owned by the Super Bock Group, the largest beverage company in Portugal. The Super Bock Group itself is a joint venture between the Portuguese group VIACORP and the Danish multinational brewing company Carlsberg Group, which holds a significant ownership stake, ensuring the brand's international distribution and presence.
