Guaraná Antarctica is one of Brazil's most iconic beverage brands, originally launched in 1921 by the Companhia Antarctica Paulista. The drink is flavored with the guaraná fruit, native to the Amazon basin, which gives it its unique, refreshing taste. Over a century later, it remains a symbol of Brazilian culture, marketed as the 'Original do Brasil'.
In 1999, the brand became part of Ambev (Companhia de Bebidas das Américas) following the merger of Antarctica and Brahma. Today, Ambev is a major subsidiary of the global beverage giant Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), which manages the brand's production and distribution worldwide. While primarily manufactured in Brazil to serve its massive domestic market, the product is also produced or bottled in other international locations through licensing agreements, particularly to serve the North American and European markets.
