Bodum is a renowned global brand specializing in coffee and tea solutions, famous for its iconic French Press designs. Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1944 by Peter Bodum, the company initially imported glassware to Denmark before developing its own coffee makers. The brand gained international acclaim in the 1970s with the launch of the Bistro French Press, which combined functionalism with affordable Scandinavian design.

While the brand has its roots in Danish design, the company relocated its headquarters to Switzerland in the 1970s. Manufacturing is heavily concentrated in Portugal, where the company operates its own factory, Bodum Portuguesa, ensuring high standards of glass and steel production. Additional manufacturing is carried out in China and Poland to support their global distribution network.

Today, Bodum remains a family-owned business, led by the founder's children. It is operated under the parent company Pi-Design AG.
