Binaca is an iconic oral hygiene brand, originally introduced in Europe during the mid-20th century. It became widely famous for its concentrated peppermint spray and mouthwash formulations, which were known for providing a powerful, cooling sensation. Originally developed by the Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical company Ciba-Geigy (now part of Novartis), the brand's presence has shifted significantly over the decades.

In the late 20th century, the rights to the Binaca brand were acquired for the North American market. Today, Binaca is primarily owned and managed by Dr. Fresh, a subsidiary of High Ridge Brands. While the brand has Swiss heritage, its current production and distribution are centered in the United States, maintaining its status as a staple in the breath freshener category.
