Hirter beer

Hirter is one of the oldest private breweries in Austria, with a history dating back to 1270. Located in Hirt, Carinthia, the brewery has maintained its independence and traditional brewing methods for over 750 years. The brand is renowned for using soft mountain water from its own proprietary springs and high-quality local ingredients to produce a wide range of beers, including their flagship Privat Pils.

Ownership has remained remarkably stable throughout the centuries. Unlike many European breweries that have been absorbed by global conglomerates, Hirter remains a purely family-owned and operated business. The Brauerei Hirt is currently under the management of the Malmgren family, ensuring that the heritage and regional identity of the Carinthian brewery are preserved for future generations.
