Palm Amber Ale

Palm is a legendary Belgian amber ale known for its distinctive top-fermentation and unique yeast strain. It was first brewed by Arthur Van Roy at the De Hoorn brewery in Steenhuffel, Belgium, as a response to the rising popularity of pilsners, positioning itself as a traditional 'Spéciale Belge.' The brand is deeply rooted in Belgian brewing heritage, utilizing honey-like malt and fine hops to create a smooth, accessible flavor profile that has made it one of the most popular ales in the Benelux region.

Today, the brand is part of a larger international portfolio. After being under the stewardship of Palm Belgian Craft Brewers for generations, the brewery was acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Royal Swinkels (formerly Bavaria N.V.) in 2016. This acquisition integrated the historic Steenhuffel brewery into a global network, ensuring that while the production remains tied to its Belgian roots, the brand benefits from a robust international distribution network. Palm continues to be a symbol of Belgian craft tradition under Dutch ownership.
