SKIL is a renowned brand in the power tool industry, famously known for inventing the circular saw (the Skilsaw) in the early 20th century. Originally an American company founded in Chicago, the brand underwent several ownership changes throughout its history, including a long period under the Robert Bosch GmbH group.

In 2016, the brand was acquired by Chervon (HK) Co., Ltd., a global manufacturer of power tools and outdoor equipment. Since then, while the engineering and brand management remain global, most manufacturing has transitioned to Chervon's state-of-the-art facilities in China to support their worldwide distribution.
