JAC Motors, officially known as Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd., is a prominent Chinese state-owned automobile and commercial vehicle manufacturer. Founded in 1964 as the Hefei Jianghuai Automobile Factory, the brand has evolved from producing specialized trucks to a full-range automaker including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and electric vehicles.
The company is headquartered in Hefei, Anhui Province, China. While the vast majority of its production occurs within its extensive Chinese manufacturing bases, JAC has established numerous assembly plants (KD plants) worldwide in regions such as Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and Latin America to serve local markets.
Ownership of JAC is a strategic mix of state and private investment. It is currently under the ultimate control of the Anhui Provincial People's Government. Notably, the brand has entered significant global partnerships, most recently with the Volkswagen Group, which holds a 50% stake in the parent entity (JAG) and a majority stake in their joint venture focused on electric mobility.
