Vauxhall is one of the oldest established vehicle manufacturers in the United Kingdom, tracing its origins back to 1857 as a pump and marine engine manufacturer in London before transitioning to car production in 1903. For nearly a century, it was a prominent subsidiary of General Motors, often producing vehicles that shared platforms with the German brand Opel.

Today, Vauxhall is an integral part of the Stellantis group, formed through the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. While Vauxhall maintains a strong British identity and continues to operate manufacturing plants in the UK, such as Ellesmere Port and Luton, its vehicle designs and technical platforms are unified with its sister brand, Opel.
