Herta is a historic brand specializing in processed meat and dough products, originally founded in Germany. The brand became a staple in European households, particularly in France, after being acquired by the Swiss conglomerate Nestlé in 1986. The 'Le Bon Paris' range is one of its most iconic product lines, known for its cooked ham varieties.
In recent years, the brand's ownership structure changed significantly. In 2019, Nestlé entered into a joint venture with the Spanish food company Casa Tarradellas, creating Herta Food. As of today, Casa Tarradellas holds a 60% majority stake in the cold cuts and dough business, while Nestlé retains a 40% share. Most products sold in the French market, such as this ham, are produced in French manufacturing facilities located in regions like Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
