Focus bicycles

Focus Bikes, established in 1993, is a high-performance bicycle brand that originated in Cloppenburg, Germany. It was founded by Mike Kluge, a world champion cyclocross racer, with the vision of creating world-class competition bikes. The brand initially gained fame for its cyclocross models but quickly expanded into mountain bikes, road bikes, and eventually high-end e-bikes.

Today, Focus is recognized as a premium German engineering brand. While the development and high-level assembly are centralized in Germany to maintain rigorous quality standards, components are sourced globally, and some manufacturing processes for carbon frames occur in specialized facilities in Asia. This blend of European design and global manufacturing expertise ensures the brand remains competitive in the professional cycling circuit.

Ownership of Focus has evolved over the years. Originally part of Derby Cycle, it was later acquired by the Dutch conglomerate Pon Holdings. In recent years, Focus was integrated into Pon.Bike, the world's leading bicycle group, which oversees a portfolio of iconic brands. This corporate backing provides Focus with extensive research and development resources, solidifying its position as a leader in the electric mobility and performance cycling sectors through 2026 and beyond.
