Irma Chokolade Flødeis is a premium dairy ice cream originally developed for the historic Danish grocery chain Irma. Irma was founded in 1886 and became iconic in Denmark for its quality standards and the 'Irma Girl' logo. The product visible in the image is specifically noted as being produced in North Jutland, Denmark, on a dairy base, developed in collaboration with dessert chef Morten Heiberg.
Following the decision by Coop Danmark to close the physical Irma stores in 2023, the Irma brand was integrated into Coop's wider retail portfolio. While the standalone Irma supermarkets are largely phased out, the brand name and its high-end products, such as this ice cream, continue to be owned and distributed by Coop Danmark A/S, ensuring the brand's legacy lives on within the Danish retail landscape.
