Amazon Redshift

Amazon Redshift is a fully managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse service in the cloud. It is part of the larger cloud computing platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS). Originally launched in late 2012, Redshift was developed to handle large-scale datasets and offer high-performance analysis using existing business intelligence tools. The service is based on technology from ParAccel, which Amazon later adapted and integrated into its own infrastructure.

As a digital cloud service, Redshift does not have a single manufacturing location; rather, it operates out of Amazon's massive network of data centers located globally, including regions in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and South America. This distributed infrastructure ensures low latency and high availability for enterprise customers worldwide.

Ownership of the service resides entirely with Amazon.com, Inc. through its subsidiary, Amazon Web Services. Since its inception, Redshift has become a cornerstone of the modern data stack, reflecting Amazon's shift from a retail-focused company to a global leader in technology infrastructure and cloud services.
