Hummel is a renowned sportswear brand with deep roots in both Germany and Denmark. Originally founded in Hamburg, Germany, in 1923 by Albert Messmer, the brand is famous for inventing one of the first football cleats. In 1956, the brand was taken over by Bernhard Weckenbrock, who moved its headquarters to Kevelaer. However, following a Danish takeover in the late 20th century, Hummel is now a Danish company based in Aarhus.
The production of Hummel sneakers is handled through a global supply chain, with manufacturing primarily located in countries such as China, Vietnam, and Turkey to ensure large-scale distribution. The brand is currently owned by the Thornico Group, a private conglomerate owned by Christian and Thor Stadil. Hummel remains iconic for its signature chevron logo, which is clearly visible on the side of the shoe in the image.
