Algocalmin 500 mg tablets

Algocalmin is one of the most recognized analgesic brands in Romania, based on metamizole sodium. Originally developed and produced by the Romanian pharmaceutical company Sicomed, it has been a staple in Romanian households for decades for pain relief and fever reduction.

Following the acquisition of Sicomed by the Zentiva Group in 2005, the brand transitioned under the Zentiva umbrella. Zentiva was previously a subsidiary of Sanofi but became an independent European pharmaceutical company in 2018 after being acquired by the private equity firm Advent International. Today, Algocalmin continues to be manufactured primarily at the Zentiva SA factory in Bucharest, Romania, maintaining its local heritage while operating within a large international pharmaceutical framework.
