CD is a classic German personal care brand founded in 1961, initially gaining fame for its 'CD 6' deodorant and its clear glycerin soap. The brand is synonymous with its 'CD Purity Law' (Reinheitsgebot), which emphasizes formulations free from mineral oils, silicones, parabens, and synthetic dyes, catering to consumers with sensitive skin.

Over the decades, CD has transitioned through several ownership structures. Originally developed by the German company Schwarzkopf, it was later managed by multinational corporations like Unilever. In 2004, the brand was acquired by Lornamead, which was subsequently bought by the Li & Fung Group (Fung Group). Today, it is part of the Lornamead portfolio under the ultimate ownership of the Fung Group, maintaining its status as a staple of German drugstore shelves while expanding its presence in international markets.
