Nestea is a globally recognized brand of iced tea and beverage mixes. It was originally launched in 1948 by Nestlé in Switzerland. For decades, the brand was managed through a joint venture between Nestlé and The Coca-Cola Company known as Beverage Partners Worldwide (BPW).
In 2017, Nestlé and Coca-Cola decided to dissolve this joint venture. Following the split, Nestlé took back full control of the brand in most international markets. In the United States, Nestlé licenses the brand for certain formats, while in Canada and parts of Europe, distribution varies. In Spain and Portugal (as seen by the Portuguese labeling 'Baixo em calorias'), the product is distributed by local bottling partners of Nestlé. Manufacturing occurs in various regional plants depending on the specific market of sale.
