Kraft Cheddar Cheese is one of the most recognized dairy brands globally, originating in the United States. Its history dates back to 1903 when James L. Kraft started a wholesale cheese business in Chicago. The brand became famous for its patented processed cheese, designed to have a longer shelf life, which revolutionized how cheese was distributed and consumed.
Following the 2012 split of Kraft Foods and the subsequent 2015 merger with Heinz, the brand ownership became fragmented by region. While the Kraft Heinz Company oversees the brand in North America, Mondelez International manages the brand in most international territories, including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Australia. Manufacturing occurs in various global facilities to serve local markets, including major production hubs in the USA, Bahrain, and Australia.
