Method is a well-known brand in the eco-friendly household product space, particularly recognized for its stylish packaging and plant-based cleaning solutions. Founded in 2000 in San Francisco by Adam Lowry and Eric Ryan, the brand was built on the principle of 'cleaning with a conscience.'
In 2012, Method merged with the Belgian eco-friendly cleaning giant Ecover to form People Against Dirty. This entity was subsequently acquired in 2017 by S. C. Johnson & Son, a major American multinational consumer goods company. Today, Method continues to operate as a distinct brand under S. C. Johnson's portfolio.
The majority of Method's products sold in the North American market are manufactured in the United States, specifically at their 'South Side Soapbox' LEED-certified factory in Chicago, Illinois. As a staple in Canadian retail stores, Method combines effective grease-cutting formulations with fragrances derived from natural sources, positioned as a premium but accessible cleaning brand.
