Rød Ålborg, officially known as Aalborg Taffel Akvavit, is a legendary Scandinavian spirit with a heritage dating back to 1846. It was first launched by Isidor Henius in Aalborg, Denmark, and quickly became a staple of Danish lunch tables, renowned for its clear color and distinct caraway flavor.

Historically, the production was centered at De Danske Spritfabrikker in Aalborg. However, in contemporary times, the manufacturing of Aalborg spirits was moved to Norway. Despite the relocation of production, it remains the quintessential Danish aquavit, maintaining its original recipe and iconic red and white label.

Today, the brand is owned by Anora Group, a leading Nordic wine and spirits company. Anora was formed through the merger of Altia and Arcus, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. This transition ensures that the historic Danish brand continues to thrive under a large-scale Nordic beverage conglomerate.
