Haku Vodka is a premium Japanese craft vodka produced by the House of Suntory. The name 'Haku' translates to 'white' or 'brilliant,' reflecting its production from 100% Japanese white rice. It is unique for its use of bamboo charcoal filtration, which imparts a smooth, rounded, and subtly sweet taste profile that distinguishes it from traditional grain-based vodkas.
The manufacturing process takes place entirely in Japan, where the rice is milled and fermented before being distilled in Kagoshima and then blended in Osaka. This meticulous process emphasizes traditional Japanese craftsmanship and high-quality ingredients.
Today, Haku is a key part of the Suntory Global Spirits portfolio. After the historic acquisition of the American company Beam Inc. by the Japanese conglomerate Suntory Holdings in 2014, the brand became part of a global powerhouse headquartered in New York, while retaining its deep artisanal roots in Japanese distillation heritage.
