Staub is an iconic French brand specializing in enameled cast iron cookware, particularly its famous cocottes. Founded in 1974 by Francis Staub in the Alsace region of France, the brand quickly became a favorite among professional chefs and home cooks alike for its interior matte black enamel and innovative self-basting spikes on the lid.

While the brand is deeply rooted in French culinary tradition, it was acquired in 2008 by the German company Zwilling J.A. Henckels. Despite this ownership transition, the majority of Staub’s cast iron products continue to be manufactured at its traditional foundry in Merville, France, preserving the high standards of French artisan craftsmanship. Today, Staub operates as a key prestige brand within the global portfolio of the Zwilling Group, headquartered in Solingen, Germany.
