Fila was founded in 1911 in Biella, Italy, by the Fila brothers, originally starting as a textile brand. Over the decades, it evolved into a world-renowned sportswear brand famous for its athletic footwear and apparel.

In a significant corporate shift in 2007, Fila Korea acquired the global Fila brand and all its international subsidiaries, effectively making the brand South Korean. Today, Fila is managed by Fila Holdings Corp. based in Seoul. While the heritage remains Italian, most manufacturing is conducted in various locations across Asia to supply global markets.
