Palm Angels was founded in 2015 by Francesco Ragazzi, an Italian art director and photographer who was formerly the creative director at Moncler. The brand originated from a photography project documenting the skate culture of Los Angeles, which evolved into a high-end streetwear label that blends American subculture aesthetics with Italian luxury craftsmanship.
While the brand's identity is heavily influenced by Southern California skate culture, its roots and manufacturing are deeply Italian. Most of the high-end garments and accessories are crafted in Italy to ensure premium quality. The brand gained rapid global recognition for its signature tracksuits, graphic tees, and bold logos, positioning itself at the intersection of luxury fashion and contemporary streetwear.
In terms of ownership, Palm Angels is part of the New Guards Group, a Milan-based fashion house that was acquired by the global luxury platform Farfetch in 2019. Despite the acquisition, the brand maintains its creative independence under Ragazzi's vision. In late 2021, LVMH announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Off-White (another New Guards brand), but Palm Angels remains primarily under the umbrella of the New Guards Group (Farfetch) with various strategic partnerships worldwide.
