Old Parr, formally known as Grand Old Parr, is a legendary brand of blended Scotch whisky that pays homage to Old Tom Parr, who reportedly lived for 152 years. The brand was established in 1909 by Greenlees Brothers and quickly became famous for its distinctive square, crackled-glass bottle and rich, mellow flavor profile. It has historically enjoyed immense popularity in Latin American markets, particularly in Colombia, Venezuela, and Mexico.
While the brand's heritage is deeply rooted in London and the traditional distilling regions of Scotland, it is currently produced and bottled in Scotland under the stewardship of one of the world's largest spirits conglomerates. The whisky is primarily crafted using malts from the Cragganmore distillery in Speyside, which provides its signature depth and sweetness.
Today, Old Parr is a key jewel in the portfolio of Diageo. As the ultimate owner, Diageo manages the brand's global distribution from its headquarters in London. Despite changes in corporate ownership over the last century, Old Parr maintains its reputation for quality, adhering to strict Scotch Whisky Regulations while continuing to be a symbol of status and longevity in its primary markets.
