Wolt Pay

Wolt Pay is the specialized fintech and digital payment arm of Wolt, the Helsinki-founded technology platform. Originally launched as a food delivery service, Wolt developed its own internal payment infrastructure to streamline transactions for customers, couriers, and partner merchants across its global operating markets. This service helps manage the complex flow of digital payments inherent in the platform economy.

In May 2022, Wolt was acquired by the American technology giant DoorDash in an all-stock transaction. This acquisition integrated Wolt's Finnish-developed technology and its digital payment systems into the broader DoorDash ecosystem. Consequently, while the brand's roots are firmly in Helsinki, Finland, its ultimate corporate ownership and strategic direction are now directed from DoorDash's headquarters in San Francisco, USA.

Wolt Pay operates across numerous jurisdictions, complying with local financial regulations in each country of operation. As part of DoorDash, it continues to scale its presence alongside the core delivery business, leveraging its robust technological foundation to compete in the global delivery and fintech sectors.
