Harman Kardon is a high-end division of Harman International Industries, a major manufacturer of home and car audio equipment. Founded in 1953 by Sidney Harman and Bernard Kardon in the United States, the brand established itself as a pioneer in the high-fidelity audio industry.

While the brand's engineering and design origins are rooted in Stamford, Connecticut, the manufacturing process for its consumer electronics, such as portable speakers and home theater systems, is primarily located in China and other global manufacturing hubs. This allows for scale while maintaining the premium audio standards the brand is known for.

Since 2017, Harman Kardon has been part of Harman International, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics.
