Hellmann's is one of the world's most recognizable condiment brands, famously originating in a New York City delicatessen in 1913. Richard Hellmann, a German immigrant, created the signature mayonnaise that would eventually become a household staple. Over a century later, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include sustainable and plant-based alternatives, such as the Plant-Based Mayo shown here.
While the brand has its roots in the United States, it is now part of the vast global portfolio of Unilever. Because Unilever is a multinational conglomerate with a massive manufacturing network, Hellmann's products are produced in various countries across Europe, North America, and other regions to serve local markets including Denmark. The ultimate ownership remains with Unilever, which is headquartered in the United Kingdom.
