'House Of The Blues' by legendary bluesman John Lee Hooker was originally released on Chess Records in 1959. This specific edition shown in the image is a UK reissue by Marble Arch Records, a budget sub-label established in the 1960s by Pye Records. The recordings themselves represent quintessential American Delta blues, capturing sessions recorded in Chicago.
Marble Arch was specifically created to release lower-cost versions of albums within the Pye Records catalog. Over time, through a series of corporate acquisitions, the Pye Records catalog (and its sub-labels like Marble Arch) became part of Precision Records and Tapes (PRT), eventually ending up under the ownership of Sanctuary Records Group. In 2012, BMG Rights Management acquired Sanctuary Records, making BMG the current ultimate owner of these specific master recordings and branding rights.
