Krušovice is one of the oldest and most prestigious traditional beer brands from the Czech Republic. Founded in 1581 by Jiří Birka in the village of Krušovice, the brewery gained historical significance when it was purchased by Emperor Rudolf II in 1583, becoming the 'Royal Brewery of Krušovice'. This royal heritage remains a central part of the brand's identity today.

While the beer was originally independent and later state-owned, it was acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. in 2007. The main production still takes place at the historic Royal Brewery in Krušovice, maintaining its authentic Czech pilsner roots while benefiting from Heineken's global distribution network. In various markets like Sweden, it is a staple of the premium imported beer segment, known for its rich malt character and balanced bitterness.
