Café Fortaleza is a prestigious Spanish coffee brand with roots dating back to 1885 in the Basque Country. Originally founded by the Freixa family, the brand established itself as a leader in the Spanish market, particularly known for its 'Maestros Cafeteros' tradition and specific coffee blends tailored to local tastes.

Today, the brand is owned by the Italian coffee giant Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group (MZB), which acquired it in 2021. Despite the change in ownership, the manufacturing and roasting processes continue to be primarily based in its historical production center in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, ensuring that it maintains its cultural identity and quality standards for the Iberian market.
