Lärabar is a popular brand of fruit and nut snack bars known for using minimal, whole-food ingredients. The brand was founded in 2000 by Lara Merriken in Denver, Colorado, after she was inspired to create a healthy snack while hiking. Her first recipes were developed in her own kitchen with just a food processor.
Following its rapid success in the natural foods market, the brand was acquired in 2008 by General Mills, a major American multinational consumer foods manufacturer. Today, Lärabar products are widely distributed across North America, including major retailers in Canada. The products are primarily manufactured in the United States, maintaining the original philosophy of simple, gluten-free, and non-GMO ingredients.
