Auchan was founded in 1961 by Gérard Mulliez in Roubaix, France. Today, the brand remains under the control of the Association Familiale Mulliez (AFM), one of the wealthiest and most influential business families in France. The company operates a vast network of hypermarkets and supermarkets globally, providing a wide range of essential food items under its own house brand, recognizable by its iconic bird logo.
