L&M Red is a prominent brand of cigarettes originally launched in 1953 by Liggett & Myers in the United States. The brand is known for its classic tobacco flavor and remains one of the highest-selling cigarette brands globally. While the brand has American roots, its international operations outside the U.S. were acquired and are currently managed by Philip Morris International (PMI).
Manufacturing of L&M cigarettes takes place in numerous facilities worldwide to serve different regional markets. Depending on the point of sale, the cigarettes may be produced in Europe, Asia, or South America. The ultimate parent company, Philip Morris International, is a global leader in the tobacco industry with its headquarters in Switzerland. In the United States, the brand (if sold domestically) remains under the ownership of Altria Group, but for the international market depicted in the Dutch packaging shown, PMI is the responsible entity.
