The brand was founded in Linköping, Sweden, in 1963 by Sten Åke Lindholm. Today, Biltema remains under the ownership of the Lindholm family through the holding company Birgma Holdings. While the corporate headquarters for the holding group is in Switzerland for financial and logistics management, the brand's operational core and origins are firmly rooted in Swedish retail history.
