Dyrup is a historic Danish paint brand with roots dating back to 1928, when S. Dyrup & Co. was founded in Copenhagen. The company gained international recognition for its high-quality architectural coatings, wood stains, and innovative bonding agents. Over the decades, it became a household name in Denmark and across Northern and Eastern Europe for both DIY and professional painting projects.
In 2011, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when it was acquired from Monberg & Thorsen by PPG Industries. PPG is a global leader in the paints, coatings, and specialty materials industry. Today, Dyrup continues to be a cornerstone of the European market, benefiting from PPG's extensive research and development while maintaining its strong Danish heritage and local production facilities. Manufacturing remains largely focused in Denmark to serve the Scandinavian market, though global supply chains are utilized for raw materials and specific product lines.
