KEF is a prestigious British manufacturer of high-fidelity audio products, renowned for its innovative engineering and the development of the Uni-Q driver technology. Founded in 1961 by electrical engineer Raymond Cooke, the company was initially based on the premises of Kent Engineering & Foundry, from which it derived its name. KEF has consistently been at the forefront of acoustic innovation, producing legendary speakers like the LS50 and the flagship Muon.

Today, while the research, development, and high-end artisanal manufacturing of flagship series continue to take place at the original Maidstone site in Kent, England, the majority of the brand's high-volume consumer products are manufactured in China. This transition followed the brand's acquisition by GP Industries, which has allowed KEF to scale its technological reach while maintaining its reputation for British acoustic excellence.

Ownership resides with the Gold Peak (GP) Group, a multi-national conglomerate based in Hong Kong. Under this stewardship, KEF has expanded its portfolio to include wireless Hi-Fi systems and luxury headphones, securing its position as a global leader in the premium audio market.
