Samsung Quick Share

Quick Share is a wireless file-sharing utility developed by Samsung Electronics. Originally launched in 2020 for Galaxy devices, it serves as a peer-to-peer data transfer protocol similar to Apple's AirDrop. The service is integrated into the Samsung ecosystem, allowing users to send photos, videos, and documents seamlessly between smartphones, tablets, and Windows-based laptops.

In a significant industry consolidation in early 2024, Samsung and Google announced the merger of their respective file-sharing technologies, with Google's 'Nearby Share' adopting the Quick Share branding across all Android devices. While the software is developed and maintained by Samsung in South Korea in collaboration with Google in the United States, it is natively pre-installed on hardware manufactured globally by Samsung and other Android OEMs. Samsung remains the ultimate owner of the specific brand and proprietary implementation on Galaxy devices.
