HP Sauce is an iconic brown sauce with a rich history dating back to its creation by Frederick Gibson Garton in 1895 in Nottingham, England. It was named after the Houses of Parliament in London, which are famously depicted on the label. The brand was originally manufactured by Garton's Vinegar and Sauce Works.
Today, the brand is owned by the American multinational Kraft Heinz, following the merger of Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz Holding Corporation in 2015. While the sauce was traditionally produced at the Aston Cross factory in Birmingham, production was moved to Elst, Netherlands, in 2007. The brand remains a staple in British households, managed globally by Kraft Heinz from their headquarters in Chicago, USA.
