Vroom & Dreesmann (V&D) was once the largest department store chain in the Netherlands, known for its extensive range of white-label household products, such as this 'Duo' kitchenware line. Historically, V&D sourced its ceramics and kitchenware from various global manufacturers in Europe and Asia to provide affordable quality to the Dutch market.
Following the bankruptcy of the original V&D chain in 2015, the brand name was acquired and relaunched as an online-only shop (vd.nl). While the original company no longer exists as a brick-and-mortar retailer, the brand remains a significant part of Dutch retail history. New products are sourced under the current brand ownership, but vintage items like this mug represent the legacy of the original department store.
