Unlike many other UK retailers, Morrisons operates a significant portion of its own food production through its 'Market Street' manufacturing arm, ensuring that many of its bakery and biscuit products are produced within the UK.

In 2021, the company underwent a major shift in ownership when it was acquired by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), an American private equity firm.
