Qatar Energy (formerly Qatar Petroleum)

Qatar Energy, formerly known as Qatar Petroleum, is the state-owned petroleum company of Qatar. It operates all oil and gas activities in the country, including exploration, production, refining, transport, and storage. The company is a key player in the global energy market, particularly as one of the world's largest suppliers of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

Founded in 1974 to oversee the nation's hydrocarbon resources, the company underwent a significant rebranding in 2021 to reflect the global energy transition. It remains under the absolute ownership of the State of Qatar, managed through the government's Ministry of State for Energy Affairs. Its operations are primary centered within Qatar, specifically in the North Field and Mesaieed Industrial City.
